I was very frightened when I developed cancer of the tonsil and was pretty poorly for a while. Mr Hari and his brilliant team were all I could have asked for, and more. I was always treated like a full human being, not ‘just’ a patient, and I felt that everyone involved with my care really wanted the best for me. On one occasion, when I felt too ill to undergo the radiotherapy at the end of a long chemo treatment, several members of staff stayed on to make sure I was well enough to be treated. Mr Hari always explained everything carefully, was kind, professional and wise. Also gently humorous, which always helped. I felt I had the very best of care and couldn’t have asked for more.

In my experience there was nothing that was need to be improved, Mr Hari explained everything to me about my operation. He was very reassuring and my care was outstanding.

My multi-nodular goitre had been under surveillance for many years, FNA's, scans etc. When it came to the point that my thyroid was impacting on my breathing it was time to take action and I was referred to Mr Hari. A partial thyroidectomy was on the horizon. The various implications of this operation were fully explained in a clear and compassionate way. The night before my operation I naturally felt a little nervous and nearly backed out. I'm extremely glad I didn't. From the moment I entered Princess Royal Hospital and subsequently Ward 8 I was treated with the utmost care, compassion and professionalism by every member of staff. All questions and concerns, however seemingly trivial, were answered- nothing was too much trouble. I have made an excellent recovery thanks to Mr Hari and his wonderful team on Ward 8. If you should ever find yourself in a similar position be assured you will be in the safest of hands. Thank you Mr Hari and team. I am very very grateful to you all.

Mr Hari listened to what I had to say, he was amazingly kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble, he saw me both pre and post my surgery and answered all my questions.

I would highly recommend doctor Hari. He was very professional and extremely thorough. His explanation of the procedure and the recovery after was excellent. He also carried out personal checks post op to see how i was. He also answered any questions I had prior to and post procedure as well. A tonsillectomy for most is a dreaded operation (especially as an adult.) However the operation went very smoothly. The wounds were as minimal as possible which definitely helped with my recovery. I believe the advice to keep drinking as much as possible post op and to chew sugar free chewing gum really helped, especially after eating . The constant intake of fluids helped keep the area moist, but also helped remove any waste residue that would have been left from eating. This will be for most a painful week or two post recovery, due to the nature of the procedure. However, with effective pain meds, listening to advice on recovery and a first class surgeon such as Doctor Hari ,I do believe the pain is as minimal as it can be.
